FC Farul - Constanta

Established in 1949, the club played in the Romanian Cup final in 2005. Farul Constanta is presided over by Gheorghe Bosanceanu, a former cargo boat commander now worth 70- to 80-million USD. An important sponsor of the club is the Naval Shipyard of Constanta, which Bosanceanu controls through an off-shore company.
He is a friend of Serban Mihailescu, the former communist prime minister’s chief of staff.
